Your Seamless Journey: Attention at every stage
Initial Enquiry & Discovery
Start here. You’ll complete a brief enquiry form that captures your high-level vision: What are you celebrating? When? Where? Who’s coming? What’s the vibe?
From there, we jump onto a complimentary discovery call—30 minutes to better understand your vision, preferences, constraints, and dreams. I listen carefully: What does this celebration mean to you? What are your must-haves? Your budget and timeline?
This conversation is the foundation for everything that follows.
Sourcing & Proposal Development
Using what I’ve learned about you, I activate my global network to source the perfect fit.
For Destination Weddings: I source and vet venues across your preferred region, create a curated shortlist, and request formal proposals from 3-5 top options. Each proposal includes accommodation details, event space options, pricing, and concessions available, with guest experience in mind.
For Honeymoons: I source luxury properties for your preferred destination, presenting each one with detailed overviews, amenities, rates, and what makes each special. If an itinerary is what you’re after I curate the entire experience from take off to landing including international and local flights, transfers and the activities that perfectly fit your vision.
For Milestone Celebrations & Groups: I source accommodations that perfectly fit your brief. Group size, budget, and vibe—whether that’s a single resort, multiple properties, or a combination. I ensure every detail is covered in your vision of the perfect celebration. It might be a thoughtfully sourced private event or number of activities. It might be a packaged tour alternative that perfectly meets the needs of your group. You receive detailed options so you can see the choices clearly before we move forward.
Negotiation, Contracting & Agreement
Once you’ve selected your preference, I get started on the real business of pulling it all together.
For Destination Weddings: I negotiate with the hotel directly—room rates, added values like complimentary suite for the couple, welcome amenities, late checkout, waived fees, spa credits, or other perks that enhance your guests’ experience – wherever possible. We finalize the room block agreement so that you’re in the best position to contract with the chosen hotel(s). The contract outlines, amoung other things, attrition policies, cancellation terms, and all agreed-upon concessions.
For Honeymoons & Groups: I negotiate the best rates through my FORA partnerships and secure added perks (that might look like a room upgrade, complimentary breakfast, spa credit, or resort credit) that elevate the value wherever possible.
You receive transparency on rates, fees, amenities, and terms before we move forward.
Booking, Guest Coordination & Logistics
Everything is now confirmed and we move into coordination mode.
For Destination Weddings: I create your guest rooming list and facilitate the guest booking process through one of three methods: (1) a link (generally Passkey) where guests self-book at the group rate, (2) a discount code they enter when booking, or (3) a rooming list managed directly with the hotel (I assign rooms based on your preferences and provide guests with their assignments). I can extend my services into monitoring and managing room uptake, cancellations, modifications, attrition terms kicking in and coordinate any last-minute changes. I can also arrange welcome amenities, welcome packages, airport transfers, and any group activities.
For Honeymoons: I finalize all hotel bookings. For more detailed itineraries—flights, transfers, accommodations, activities, dining reservations, spa treatments. I create a detailed day-by-day itinerary and coordinate any special arrangements (anniversary room setup, private dinners, surprise experiences). You have access to a mobile friendly itinerary with all details including flight numbers and more.
For Milestone Celebrations & Groups: Depending on the complexity of the brief, I coordinate all accommodations, arrange group activities and excursions, manage guest communications, create rooming assignments or provide booking links, and arrange group transfers and welcome experiences.
You receive an online portal with all confirmations, itineraries, contact details, and destination guides. Nothing is left to chance.
Pre-Trip Communication & Preparation
As your celebration date approaches, I’m available to manage all guest-facing details.
What this looks like.
For Destination Weddings: Content for wedding website or sending pre-arrival communications to all guests with travel logistics, tips like what to pack, event details, schedule & parking info. Property briefs and check ins, monitoring of payment, cancellation and attrition deadlines, guest adds, cancellations, wedding planner communication and coordination, ceremony/reception logistics for couple, bridal party and guests.
For Honeymoons & Groups: Itineraries, packing guides, aircraft and seat maps, important contacts, guidance on visa and vaccinations, airport information, and destination details so guests/couples know exactly what to expect.
This step ensures everyone arrives informed and relaxed, ready to celebrate.
Support During Your Celebration
Even as you celebrate, I remain accessible for any questions, changes, or emergencies.
For Destination Weddings: I’m available throughout your celebration weekend—monitoring that everything flows smoothly, coordinating with the venue on any last-minute needs, managing guest logistics, and ensuring your day unfolds as envisioned. Additional fee applies.
For Honeymoons & Groups: For Curated Journeys, a WhatsApp or phone number is provided and local support is available.

Luxury Is a Feeling
Luxury travel affirms the natural abundance of all things.

Its not a price tag
It’s the moment you arrive somewhere so thoughtfully cared for that you can finally exhale. Where you’re held, nurtured, and celebrated. That experience changes you.
When you return home, something has shifted. You’ve seen yourself more clearly—not because anything was lacking, but because you were fully present. You were taken care of. You were reminded of what’s possible. That recognition is powerful. It’s empowering. And it naturally inspires you to show up differently in your life and for the people around you.
That’s what I create: experiences that feel luxurious because they’re intentional, because every detail honours you, and because you return home not just rested, but renewed.
Experiences that feel luxurious because they’re intentional, because every detail honours you.
You return home not just rested, but renewed.
You are reminded of what’s possible. That recognition is powerful.
You were taken care of.
The Details That Matter
Clients often ask, ‘How did you know to arrange that special surprise?’ The truth is, it wasn’t luck. It was intention paired with relationships.
I maintain deep relationships with hotel managers, guides, and travel partners across the globe. Relationships allow me to go beyond the standard offering—to arrange an experience that feels personal, not generic.
But first, I listen. I pay attention to what matters to you. I design your journey with intention—noting the details, anticipating needs, weaving meaning into every day. Then, I activate my network to bring it to life. The ‘magic’ is simply the result of thoughtful planning meeting genuine relationships and expertise.
Hi, I’m Sharon
I specialize in one thing: transforming complicated travel logistics into seamless, meaningful celebrations.

I am a FORA affiliated agent

Milestone moments—weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, celebrations—are your opportunities to rise into a new chapter, to experience the world as an expanded version of yourself. The Phoenix symbolizes this renewal opportunity.
The Phoenix Journey exists because of my own deeply transformative experience with travel throughout my life. My own Destination Wedding, idyllic island honeymoon and moments in the African bush that expanded my world view beyond the limitation of my everyday perspective.
My role is to clear the logistics so you can access that transformation. To remove the stress. To handle the details so you arrive at your destination not exhausted, but open—ready for the magic ahead.
As a FORA Travel Advisor with access to 8,200+ luxury properties and preferred partnerships, I source venues, negotiate room blocks (not just rates, but amenities and perks), manage guest experiences, and coordinate all logistics. I negotiate not for the lowest rates, but for the best value: room upgrades, welcome amenities, spa credits, suite perks, and exclusive experiences.
My process is built on intention. I plan consciously based on whats important to you. Every itinerary is designed with flow and meaning. Every guest experience is thoughtfully delivered.
The result? You arrive at your wedding, honeymoon, or milestone moment knowing every detail has been coordinated—from room assignments to welcome packages to special touches. You can be fully present. That’s the real luxury.”
My preferred partner locations
I love to work with local businesses as well as properties that aim to minimize earth impact through a low-impact, high-yield tourism model.
My tourism philosophy
Tourism directly impacts local communities and nature. I’m always mindful of the great privilege we have to travel, and wherever possible curate in a way that is conscious, regenerative and sustainable.

With a long-standing meditation practice, I’m drawn to transformative journeys like the one we embark on when we become silent and go within.
It’s the search for freedom.
Journeys out in the world are similar. Except it’s through connection, to the land and diverse cultures that we get a sense of one consciousness underlying it all.
Traveller stories
Our Costa Rica Honeymoon
My wife and I worked with Sharon to plan our honeymoon in Costa Rica, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience.
We were on a very tight timeline and needed someone who could quickly understand what we were looking for and turn it into a realistic itinerary. Sharon did exactly that. She listened carefully to our preferences, paid attention to the small details, and put together an itinerary that genuinely felt tailored to us rather than copied from a template.
What impressed me most was the amount of effort and care she invested. She made us feel like a priority from the very beginning, was always responsive, and consistently came back with thoughtful suggestions and alternatives. She introduced us to some truly incredible properties and experiences that we would never have discovered on our own.
Her knowledge, professionalism, patience, and genuine desire to help made a stressful planning process much easier and far more enjoyable. We are incredibly grateful for her time and expertise, and we would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a travel advisor who truly cares about creating a special and personalized trip.
Thank you, Sharon, for all your help and for helping turn our honeymoon plans into something we are genuinely excited about.

Honeymoon in Argentina & Chile
Sharon was great! She did a great job planning and communicating the plans! She recommended the full moon tour (with lunar rainbows at Iguazú Falls) and it was beautiful and unforgettable.
Thanks for getting us the room at Viña VIK, it was very busy!
– Kari Ness (Minneapolis)
Honeymoon in the Seychelles
Thank you Sharon for all your work & effort.
I am really impressed that you sat down and found really good options that fulfil exactly what I was looking for while even staying within my budget, after I had tried three other travel agencies who struggled to do so at all – amazing!

An Aussie Adventure
My feet have touched the ground and I’ve arrived back in Cape Town. Thank you so much for curating such a fabulous trip.
So many experiences in such a short time I’m still digesting it all, especially the food. Bammaru, Masterchef Australia’s John Creece’s creative use of local flora and fauna (green ants come to mind!) — outstanding! Stefanie’s brunch was also exceptional there!
The team at Longitude 131 also knew how to make a great “Perfect Manhattan” — my test of a celebrated bar/restaurant. They even had my favorite bourbon, Woodford, in the recipe. I was impressed that Lou (GM) herself drove me to the airport. They (or probably you) also arranged for me to have the Swag experience under the stars, and around an open fire!
I would have spent a week at Sequoia Lodge — the ambience, the rooms, some of the best in the world!
Everything worked, the timing, the connections — all fine. I know that you must have worked remotely and in the background to do this, as you often knew before I did if things changed.
I’m wondering if anyone apart from you could have arranged that once-in-a-lifetime experience. That was above and beyond!
Much more to say — I’ll save it for another time and I hope that you’ll curate many more trips for me.
Thank you Sharon,
– Bernard Fisher (UK)

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know
Planning Fees & Services Charges
How much does it cost to work with you?
The Simple Answer: If you have a destination or hotel in mind, and I source a rate you want to book, there’s no planning fee. I earn directly through the hotel I book—so your rate is the same whether you book through me or the hotel directly (often with additional perks and benefits – think room upgrades, early check in late check out and more). You benefit from FORA Preferred Partnerships, my Virtuoso affiliation and expertise at no extra cost.
Can I use you without paying a planning fee?
Absolutely. If you have a specific hotel or destination in mind, and you’d like my expertise navigating the booking, and getting you perks and benefits, there’s no planning fee—I earn through standard hotel commissions.
This works well for:
- Straightforward honeymoons (one property, one destination)
- Group trips with simple coordination
- Couples who know exactly what they want and need booking support
If you want me to design a custom, multi-faceted experience, that’s when a planning fee applies—see above FAQ.
When is There a Planning Fee:
Transparency: The charging of a planning fee is always communicated upfront.
Destination Weddings: When I go beyond venue and accommodation sourcing, negotiating and contracting (free to use service), into guest management ie: monitoring of room “uptake” by guests, monitoring deadlines for payments, cancellations and attrition triggers, guest rooming lists, arrival day logistics, and event day coordination, this is where my services attract an additional fee, which is agreed upon upfront.
Honeymoons: A planning fee applies for complex, multi location curated itineraries—this may include international flights with local connections, private transfers, guided tours, curated dining experiences, activity bookings, and special arrangements. Simple “book one property” honeymoons are complimentary. Complex, custom-designed journeys attract a planning fee.
Milestone Celebrations & Groups: As with Honeymoons, planning fees vary based on journey complexity, or whether a packaged or customised itinerary is sourced/ curated.
Using a Travel Advisor & Passport Check
Why should I use a travel advisor instead of booking online myself?
Great Question. Here’s what you get:
Access to properties, rates, and partnerships you won’t find online. Virtuoso & FORA relationships unlock preferred rates, amenities, and benefits.
Expertise: I know which hotels work. (no matter your reason)
Negotiations when sourcing: not just rates, but value—I know how to ensure we get the best outcome.
Coordination: For weddings, I manage room block and guest uptake, guest communications, logistics, and on-ground support. For honeymoons and groups, I handle the complex details (flights, transfers, activities, dining) so you arrive stress-free.
Support: 24/7 support is available on curated itineraries. Something goes wrong? Quick solutions. Online booking? You’re on your own.
Peace of Mind: You know everything is coordinated, confirmed, and taken care of. You can focus on celebrating, not stressing.
For straightforward bookings, you might find cost saving options online. For anything complex—a travel advisor pays for itself in peace of mind.
Can you book flights, and how far in advance?
Yes. I can help with all of your flight needs. Most airlines release their flight schedules 299 days in advance. If your land bookings are made before flights are released, I will contact you as soon as they become available and finalize flights at the earliest possible date.
How is a travel advisor different from a booking website?
Booking websites are transactional—you enter dates, you see prices, you book. That’s it.
A travel advisor is relational. I listen to your vision, source options that match your values, negotiate on your behalf, coordinate all details, and support you before, during, and after your trip. I’m invested in your experience being amazing—because your happiness is how I build my reputation.
For simple bookings, websites work fine (if you find something better that is). For meaningful celebrations or complex trips, an advisor makes all the difference.
Passports, visas, vaccinations, medications and travel insurance?
Your passport will need to be valid for at least six months from the date you return home. You’ll also need two blank pages for each of the countries you’ll be visiting. Please ensure you check visa, vaccination and travel insurance requirements for all locations in your itinerary. Travel insurance is always recommended. Check what is covered and what is not.
Honeymoons & Groups
When should we start planning our honeymoon?
More time is always a good thing. Rates are often dynamic meaning they fluctuate (going up) as demand increases and properties reach capacity. This is especially true if you have a specific property in mind.
Timing depends on your destination. For popular destinations (Maldives, Bali, Greece in peak season), 6 months is ideal.
That said, the earlier you start, the more options you have and the better rates we can secure. Even if your honeymoon is soon, reach out—Last-minute deals are always available through my partnerships.
Can you book accommodation and flights, or just accommodations?
I handle the full journey—flights, transfers, accommodations, activities, dining reservations, spa bookings, everything. I’ll coordinate your entire honeymoon so you arrive with a detailed itinerary and nothing left to chance.
If you prefer to utilise flight miles and do your own flight bookings, this can also work.
What if one person is organizing (and paying) for everyone?
We handle this through a master account. You (the organizer) set up the room block or accommodations under your name. I manage the rooming list (where required) and send guests their room assignments—they don’t pay directly; you cover the accommodation costs.
For activities, dining, and transfers, we can either bill them to your master account or set up individual charges, depending on what you prefer.
What if each guest wants to pay for themselves?
We set up a booking link where group members can book and pay for themselves. Packaged experiences can be arranged for groups of 2-25 in certain locations.
This method works best when you want flexibility—guests choose their own room types and can modify their stays without your involvement.
What constitutes a group?
Ten hotel rooms, or 5-8 cruise cabins is generally the group classification.
Destination Weddings
How far in advance should we book a destination wedding?
12-18 months is ideal. This gives us time to source the perfect venue, secure your preferred dates, negotiate room blocks at better rates, and manage all logistics without rush fees. That said, 9-12 months works for most destinations, and sometimes even 6-9 months is possible depending on your destination.
What’s the difference between a wedding planner and a travel advisor?
Excellent question—and it’s why you need both.
A Wedding Planner designs your ceremony and reception—flowers, catering, timeline, décor, entertainment, photos, music. They make your wedding day beautiful.
A Travel Advisor (me) manages the guest experience from the moment they land until they leave—accommodations, room blocks, transfers, welcome experiences, group logistics, dining, activities. I ensure your guests are comfortable, coordinated, and celebrated.
Why you need both: A planner focusing only on the ceremony doesn’t ensure guests can easily access the venue from their hotel. I source venues with the guest experience in mind—location, hotel amenities, property layout, nearby activities. I ask: Where will guests stay? How far is the venue? How do they get there? What will they do the day before, day after?
This is why involving a travel advisor from the very beginning—not after you’ve booked a venue—ensures the entire picture works for your guests.
How do you negotiate room blocks?
I contact the hotel directly with your guest count, dates, and room breakdown. I negotiate the best possible rate AND amenities—which may include complimentary suite for the couple, a welcome cocktail, late checkout, waived fees, a spa credit, or a room upgrade.
I also negotiate the contract terms: Is it a courtesy block (no financial obligation) usual for small blocks, or contracted block? What’s the cutoff date? What are cancellation penalties? What’s attrition (the penalty if you don’t fill all rooms contracted)?
You get full transparency on all terms before signing.
Can you work with my wedding planner?
Absolutely. In fact, I prefer it. I handle accommodations, room blocks, guest logistics. They handle the event. Together, your guests have a seamless experience. I’ll coordinate with your planner on timeline, guest count, any special needs, and ensure everything flows smoothly.
How do you manage guest communications?
For the room block, guests either self-book via a link (Passkey), use a discount code (they apply it when booking), or I manage a rooming list (I assign rooms and send assignments to guests).
I monitor room uptake, manage cancellations and modifications, communicate with you on this so that as your wedding approaches, reminders can be sent. I stay available for questions up until and through your celebration weekend.
What if some guests can’t make it or want to cancel?
It happens. Depending on the hotel’s cancellation policy, guests can cancel with certain notice. I manage these changes with the hotel, update your rooming list, and adjust logistics as needed. I also help you navigate any attrition implications so you understand your financial exposure.
Can we do a destination wedding on a budget?
Yes. We can find more affordable destinations, negotiate group rates, choose all-inclusive resorts (which simplify budgeting), or select properties with lower nightly rates but great amenities. My job is to maximize value—negotiate the best rate and best amenities so your guests get luxury without breaking the bank.
“In the end we’ll conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand and we’ll understand only what we have been taught.”
~ Baba Dioum
I know I’m not alone in my desire to adjust this quote slightly because I’ve seen conversations online about this, but I think it should read that we will conserve what we love because we’ve felt a connection with that thing, to that place, with that creature, animal, community.
Once we form that connection, we take responsibility, we say, “that belongs to me, it’s up to me to ensure that its protected, looked after, that it can thrive” and that happens when we travel. This is why I love what I do.
